Nhan Mountain an Ideal Destination in Phu Yen

Climb the mountain- See the Tower

Nhan mountain is over hundred meters high located in Nhat Ward,  Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province. There are many possible explanations for the name of the mountain but primarily because there is an ancient Cham tower of nearly 700-year-old called Nhan Tower. This is one of many ancient tower projects that the sharply majestic Champa Kingdom left on the central strip of land. It is said that, the top of the tower is like a Tern (a type of bird which is not found now), someone says that, in the old days, there were a lot of flamingos in the mountain, locals pronounced “Nhan”. Thus, compared to Ponaga tower in Nha Trang or Porime tower in Ninh Thuan, the tower on the mountain doesn’t have a Cham name, but is named by local people.

????????????????????????????????????

In the war, many times, the tower has been the attack target of enemy. Currently, the top of the tower is rebuilt, but as it is recorded in the historical document, a battleship of the enemy fired ack- ack to the tower from Tuy Hoa sea and broke the top. Today, walking along the foot of the mountain, we will see a large brick platform that many people believe that it is the prototype tower. Naturally, a Legend is still a Legend; however, the beauty and historical value of Swallow Mountain is undeniable. On 1 – 4-1975, atop the main tower, Vietnamese soldiers waving the red flag with yellow star, officially gaining the freedom for Phu Yen province.
