Ho Chi Minh Museum – Dragon House Wharf
The Dragon House Wharf, fomerly known as Nha Rong, was built in 1863 by the local materials and European materials. It consitst of 2 storey building according to the European architectural style, but the roof made by Orient style, head horse symbols on the top of the building, the the name (Dragon House” was taken. The museum has a collection of 3,000 pictures and 700 artifacts relating to President Ho Chi Minh.
In September 1979, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh city chose Nha Rong as Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site – Dragon House Wharf, then changed it into Ho Chi Minh Museum brandch in Ho Chi Minh City.
Revolutionary Museum
Located in abuilding more than 100 years old at 65 Ly Tu Trong Street (on the corner with Nam Ky Khoi Nghia), the Revolutionary Museum used to be the palace of the Governor of Cochinchina and, then, the office of the imperial delegate of the King.
The museum is open from 8am to 11:10am and 2pm to 4.30pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
Viet Nam History Museum
It is located in Thao Cam Vien Park, at N02 Nguyen Binh Khiem. The Viet Nam History Museum in Ho Chi Minh City was built in 1929 and was called Musee Blanchard de la Bosse until 1956. During that period, the museum had different exhibits on ancient Asian art.
In 1956, the museum was renamed Sai Gon National Museum, and finally in 1975, after some renovations, the museum was expanded. On August 1979, it became Viet Nam History Museum in Ho Chi Minh City.
Over ten thousand of objects and document, 21 show rooms are presented in the museum.
War Remnants Museum
The War Remnants Museum is situated at 28 Vo Van Tan Street, District 3. It displays shocking evidences of atrocity commited by the foregn aggressors during Vietnam’s two national liberation wars. There is an interesting collection of American weapons, and more imperssive are a French guillotine sent to Viet Nam in 1911, 1 model of the notorious tiger cages for keeping Vietnamese revolutionaries. The museum attracts a lot of foreign tourist. It is open daily from 8am to 11.45am and from 1.30pm to 4.45pm.
