Tuan Chau Island
It is located in the south-west og Ha Long Bay, 8km from Bai Chay Tourist Wharf, 2km from national way 18A. It is schist island, very pretty, with a luxuriant forest. It has an area of 220ha, and to the east and south are two beaches andowed with very white and fine sand. One can go to Tuan Chau Island via the 2km cement road from the mainland. Investments have been poured into the the island to turn it into a modern tourist resort. It cludes such fascinating extras as the dolphin, sea lion, and seal-performing club, animal circus club, golf court, culural sports center, beach, rural market, ornamental fish lake, villas in Hill 1 and Hill 2 with 300 rooms, guesthouses, and five 50 room villas by the beach. The ensemble of five restaurant and one round house built in the pagoda motif can serve up to 1,000 guests at the same time.
Dau Go (Driftwood) Grotto
The grotto in on Driftwood Island, formerly known as Canh Doc Island. The name Driftwood Grotto comes from the polular story of the resistance war against the Nguyen Mong aggressors. In a decisive battle, Tran Hung Dao was given an order to prepare many sharp bamboo stakes to be planted in the riverbed of the Bach Dang River. They were the remaining wooden pieces were found.
Thien Cung Grotto
This grotto is one of the most beautiful grottos in Ha Long Bay. Thien Cung is situated on the south-west side of the day, 4km from the wharf outside of Ha Long City. The way to Thien Cung is a perilous one, covered on both sides by thick forest. After entering a narroe gate, the magnificent grotto’s 130 meter long girth opens up. Getting in we are more astonished and splendid beauty which is made from stalactite.
Bo Nau Grotto
Some 2-3 km southeast of Trong Mai Islet lies Bo Nau Grotto. This vaulted grotto covers 200m2. The name Bo Nau is associated with the fact that pelicans often take sheter here. The floor of the grotto is wide and flat, but not deep. Stalactites fall down from the roof of the grotto in different clusters. Meanwhile stalag mites grown up in different shapes and layers.
Bo Nau Grotto is one of the beauty grottoes in Ha Long Bay.
Virgin and Male Grottoes
The Virgin Male Grotto is situated in the island range of the Surprise Grotto, Dong Tien Lake, and Luon Grotto, 15km south of Bai Chay Beach. For Some fishermen, the Virgin grotto is home, while for young lovers, it is a popular romantic redezous site.
Hanh Grotto
Located 9km west of Cam Pha Town, 20km from Bai Chay Beach, Hanh Grotto is the longest grotto in Ha Long Bay. It ia 1,300m long and stretches throughout the stone moutain of Quang Hanh. The French named it “Le Tunel”, of Tunnel Grotto. The mouth of the grotto is so low one has to go bu small boat to pass through.
Hanh Grotto is extremely beautiful. A small boat will take you through the stone passageway by flashight, casting magical colours on the hanging stalactites.
