Van Long Pond Rammer a Beautiful Destination near Hanoi

Van Long is not a natural lagoon, but was formed by the building of the 30km long adike in the left bank of Day river to prevent flooding. Since then, Van Long has become a vast wetland with  beautiful rock islands and caves.

Here, the management board sells tickets for a boat tour in 2 directions. The main direction is to visit Kem Tram- Hang Bong (Bong Cave) with many scenic sites. The second direction is for those who are interested in creatures. If you are lucky, you can meet rare langurs drinking water in the pond or swinging from branch to branch.

Coming to Van Long, you will have the feel of a bay without waves and the water surface is as flat as a mirror, and is so clear that we can see the moss and aquatic plants below. If the travel by boat, it takes about an hour to visit all the pond in brief, firstly, the boat goes through the creeks flanked by tall patches of grass. Van Long has over 30 beautiful caves, in which some huge caves are included in tourist attractions (some caves are not accessible in high water season) such as: Ca (Fish) Cave, Bong Cave, Rua (Turtle) Cave, Chanh Cave…

After going through the mountains, you’ll come to Ca cave, this is a half-submersible half- floating cave of 250m long, 8m high, 10m wide opening into a beautiful cave. The cave is located at the foot of the mountain, so after going through the cave to the other side, you will see a small grass valley surrounded by mountains, if you are lucky – usually in the afternoon (around 15:30 to 16:30 ), you will have more chances to see langurs swinging from branch to branch and storks are higher than going  in the morning.
